Fungal Nail Infection

An infected nail plate in Onchomycosis appears thickened quite brittle and even takes on a yellowish brownish colour.

This eventually turns out to develop a worm-eaten appearance.  Failure to maintain a good standard of foot hygiene can lead to Onychomycosis (Fungal Nail).
